For 2017, WHEAT research outcomes benefited the poorest in remote areas in Afghanistan to get access to quality seed through collaboration with national research partners. In Ethiopia – emergency seed supply – as well as in India’s Bihar state and in Pakistan ensured food security for farmers who depend on the crop.
In 2015, CIMMYT redoubled decades-long efforts to develop, test and promote innovative, productive, and resource-conserving technologies and cropping practices in collaboration with partner organizations and farmers.

In 2014, CIMMYT researchers tackled major constraints to maize and wheat farming systems in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Through resource-saving technologies, breeding for resistance, understanding gender gaps, and building international research networks the Center is improving livelihoods of the world’s poorest farmers.
